December 18th, 2008 at 20:00:01 use Japanese rice which you can get it from Asian market....for sticky...u have to add vinegar once it is cooked....and spread and mix over the cooked rice...
December 18th, 2008 at 20:23:00 Walmart has sushi rice, at least here they do. Try nishiki brand it's really sticky.
December 18th, 2008 at 20:45:59 Could one immerse existing bonito in soy sauce for a similar effect?

December 18th, 2008 at 21:54:56 aspergirl needs to get the sand out of her vagina, when people ask a simple question theres no need to go super saiyan bitch on them and assuming asper is short for asperger's syndrome, I have it too and I don't go off on people for asking simple questions Also, yes poodles don't shed but still, I wouldn't want a dog near my food. Assuming this is a cooking show the chef most likely owns/works at a resturaunt, and it's just weird to think ANY chef would cook with a dog like that
December 18th, 2008 at 22:17:55 umm... maybe to you, but like I said I would rather eat deep fried skunk asshole than umeboshi It tastes like a giant chunk of pure sodium pickled in a big jar of battery acid Honestly I can't understand why anyone can eat that horrid garbage, I understand strange tastes but umeboshi just has no good flavor. salt and medicine tastes better maybe if it wasnt so damn strong I could understand but I had to force myself not to throw up and thats rare for me, i threw up ONCE, I had the flu
December 18th, 2008 at 22:40:54 Okaka - Dried Bonito Flakes Moistened with Soy Sauce. If you follow the above instruction, the umeboshi w/onigiri is great. I feel sorry that you have to buy such expensive umeboshi. I live in LA I make umeboshi my self. I am still eating the umeboshi(actully apricots)I made 10 years ago.
December 18th, 2008 at 23:03:53 hahahahahaha....so funny
December 18th, 2008 at 23:26:52 Wonderful!!!
December 19th, 2008 at 23:49:51 XD OMG it wont let me put in a two letter short comment!
December 19th, 2008 at 00:12:50 duh... really? I said it stick's like it is coated with a natural glue, and it does, I made onigiri yesterday, the nori just stuck, dunno why but it did. also FYI to anyone wanting to try umeboshi (pickled plums, the staple for onigiri filling in japan) DON'T not only did it cost me 13 dollars for a small container with 17 umeboshi it tastes like battery acid... and yes I know what that tastes like, I put a C battery in my mouth on a dare, honestly Id rather do that than eat umeboshi
December 19th, 2008 at 00:35:49 He stays in line because he doesnt want to get eatten >_> (sorry but I couldn't resist XD)
December 19th, 2008 at 00:58:48 This nori is laver, seaweed. It is not glue.
December 19th, 2008 at 01:21:47 wtf!
December 19th, 2008 at 01:44:46 Make sure not to form too hard. The best is not too hard not too soft.
December 19th, 2008 at 02:07:45 I have the same issue, but I am making onigiri tommorow so I guess I will find out eh? I assume that the moist rice is enough to form a weak seal to the nori, if I remember correctly nori is kind of like the glued paper of an envelope and sticks fairly easily when wet, which is why it is so important to keep it dry (and hence the HUGE sillica gel packet in the nori packages i have) sadly i need to go hunt down some medium grain rice as I bought the wrong kind... (damn you walmart)
December 19th, 2008 at 02:30:44 reminding me of air gear XDDDD
